Giovanni is a 3rd year PhD student at the Stanford University Computer Science Department, advised by prof. Monica Lam. His interests lay at the intersection of programming languages and natural language processing. He's the lead developer of the Almond project, an open, crowdsourced voice and virtual assistant featuring state-of-the-art technology. He has presented at WWW17, and Ubicomp18. Previously, he was a member of the GNOME community.
